How to save a video frame capture which played at 16:9 but captured as 4:3 and I need result as 16:9 ?

Hi,

Media Player Classic-HC plays a 16:9 video (mpg) as 16:9 but annoyingly when capturing a frame as a .bmp file, that frame is 4:3 ratio so circles are now tall elipses etc.

I need to resave that bmp file and have it display in photoshop or other image progs as 16:9 size.

How do I resave it ?

I tried altering pixel ratio to pal 16:9 and it becomes the right shape, but saving it as a file (bmp)  then opening it in another prog sees it still display as 4:3 ratio size.

If I were to do the frame save in a prog such as WinDVD4 it would save it as 16:9 same as the viewing size, but that prog is lost to us with its ease of use now and not much good.

I need to find another video player full screen that captures stills at the viewing ratio, without messing about with right click and enter a menu to do so.

Somehow MPC is capturing what might be the true pixel width/height but losing the inbuilt info that tells a pixel image viewing prog how to display the file.
