How to create this in Photoshop

Hello,

I'm new to Photoshop.

I created this hi-tech box in After Effects but I need to recreate this in Photoshop.  In After Effects I created this from one solid with 2 masks that add and subtracted each other to create this hi-tech box.  Is there a similar method I can use in Photoshop to create this? Or maybe someone could show me how to create other hi-tech looking user interface boxes that can have text in them.
