I tried that out. I followed the picture another member posted. That makes a large document. Are you indicating to create a master logo in a file that size and make the logo then use a marquee tool to outline the shape of it and I can maybe copy and paste it to another file to make it smaller for web purposes?
Here is an example of what I did.
That is really large and not what I would want as a logo size. What I would do is copy the text and color, then go to open new and with the clipboard set up, hit ok and then paste.
