Glad to hear you have resolved the problem. CS6 is still a very capable version of Photoshop, but the trouble is you may be restricted in how far you can update your computer and keep it working in the future. I do use CC but I take the view that its not necessary to continually update to the latest OS, in fact most of my work is done on Windows 7 as its super stable and not a resource hog. Fortunately for Apple and Microsoft most people like pretty new interfaces every 18 months.
