First, let me thank you for your reply and help with this matter. I very much appreciate your time spent helping me.

Computer/Software Spec's:

Win10 Pro 64bit x64- i7-4790@3.6GHz;

16gigs ram,

13 terabytes (11external-permanent drives)

Running CC2015

Acrobat, DC;

Compatibility Modes Tried: Win7; (as recommended after running MS Compatibility Mode Assistant)

I am Creating a Portfolio -

Files being added are all PDF (no rich media)

All files are in Current Acrobat DC version & cataloged

I am currently attempting to make a dossier - or portfolio - of pdf files.  When I add a pdf to the portfolio then I loose my current place in the list of items I am choosing from.  I would like to be able to have my catalog open in one window, and still be able to review individual files in a separate window without loosing my place in catalog itself. (bookmarks would only confuse the situation)

I do not totally understand why I cannot open a document in a "new" window, but it always opens it in the same window as my catalog.

( Ultimate *dream* to have)

I would like to be able to create multiple portfolio's at once, Organizing my documents in the most used/shared portfolios instead of the individual files, or having multiple catalogs available based on various criteria such as persons, and then another as subjects. yet another based on various relationship criteria.

But I would certainly settle to be able to open multiple windows allowing me to

1. create a table of contents

2. being able to review/make last minute formatting edits to the individual pdfs before placing them in the create portfolio window (which itself, does reside in a separate window with the drag and drop feature.)

I realize this sounds confusing but the bottom line is, I just need to know how I can have multiple documents/pdf files open in separate windows.

I very much appreciate your help. I realize this is just a silly question, but I find the lack of ability to open multiple windows even sillier, and I have not been able to find a solution.

Best regards,

~elaine.
